HELP & ANSWERS
Frequently asked questions
A quick guide to the map, saved leaderboards and town-watch emails. For a deeper explanation, read the map guide and caveats.
About the map
Is this an official Atlas Earth website?
No. Atlas Earth Maps is an independent community project, not affiliated with or endorsed by Atlas Earth. Use the game itself as the authority for current titles and rankings.
Is the leaderboard live?
No. The map shows saved snapshots. Check the capture time beside a leaderboard: a recent publication does not mean every town was scanned at the same time. Rankings may have changed in the game since the snapshot.
Why is my town missing or showing a county leaderboard?
Coverage is still being reconciled. A geographic shape is not always a verified Atlas title. A county fallback shows the county’s board, not a separate town ranking. Unresolved areas are left unlinked rather than matched by guesswork.
Are cities, townships and counties separate titles?
They can be. Local titles are independent, even when their borders overlap or their names match. Selecting a county does not calculate a combined total from the towns inside it.
What do the map colors mean?
Orange marks a close race: the leader’s margin is 10 parcels or fewer, or 5% or less of the leader’s total. Green marks other populated boards, including boards with one ranked owner. Gray means no verified populated board is attached. Colors describe the saved snapshot.
Updates and history
How often are leaderboards updated?
Tracked boards are included in recurring scans. The wider catalog follows an adaptive rotation, so not every place updates every day. One-time requested snapshots are preserved but do not automatically become tracked. The displayed capture time is the best guide to freshness.
Can I request a fresh leaderboard?
Where available, use Check leaderboard or Update now and complete the verification challenge. Requests are rate-limited and queued. A preview may appear before the validated snapshot is permanently published; an update is not guaranteed to be immediate.
Why does history have gaps?
History contains successful snapshots collected by this project, not every change in the game. A gap does not mean there was no activity. Failed or incomplete scans do not replace the last good result.
My Towns and email alerts
How do I watch a town?
Open My Towns, sign in, and add an available mapped town. The account page shows your tracking options and limits. Saving a town and enabling its email alerts are separate controls.
What triggers a town-watch email?
After the first baseline scan, enabled alerts report changes in the stored top 10: entries, exits, rank, parcel counts and player names. They are scan-based reports, not instant purchase notifications.
Why have I not received an email?
Confirm that email alerts are enabled for that town. A first baseline or a scan with no qualifying top-10 change does not create a change alert. Updates also depend on scan completion and mail delivery; check your spam folder.
How do I unsubscribe?
Use the Unsubscribe link in a town-watch email, or manage that town’s email settings in My Towns. Unsubscribing applies to that town’s alerts. Removing the town from tracking also stops its alerts.
Can I see individual purchased parcels here?
The site focuses on title boundaries, leaderboards and their saved history. It does not currently provide an individual purchased-land map or a live purchase feed.
Mapping issues
Why can a border differ from a government map?
Atlas titles and administrative boundaries are not always the same. Detached areas, islands, overlapping titles and name changes can complicate a match. We preserve unresolved areas until the available evidence supports a reliable mapping.
How do I report an issue or a wrong board or boundary?
Email [email protected]. Include the full place name, country and state or prefecture, the map link, the displayed capture time, and what appears wrong. If available, include the corresponding official Atlas leaderboard link or a screenshot. Never include account credentials.
